Business Trip To Perodua and Nights at Times Square KL

Alhamdulillah. All the compliments to the god the Merciful. I'd safely arrived home yesterday morning after an approximately 6 and half hours of long journey back home with MH052 Boeing B777 from KLIA to Kansai International airport. Then from the Kansai International Airport to my house it took another 2 hours. Pheww..Commencing from last week Wednesday, January 17th until Friday, January 26th i've had 10 days business trip to Malaysia. これからは10日間マレーシャへの出張の話をさせて頂きたいですけれども。。それじゃ、始めましょうか。。。

Wednesday, January 17
Manager Abe-san of Parts Supply Control Dept., Assistant Manager Nakanishi-san of Parts Info Dept., specialist advisor Okada-san (he's already retired, but at age of 64 he still diligently works, as Daihatsu always keep calling him back to the company as it still needs his expertise and advise) and myself assembeled at Kansai airport and boarded the flight at around 11:30 am. After flying through the blue sky, we touched down at KLIA at around 5:30 pm. Ohhh Malaysia..Malaysia..Malaysia here i come again. Miss you..not so much but a bit hehe. The weather was good with 27℃ and sort of cloudy. We left KLIA by taking KLIA Express for our long awaited Berjaya Times Square Hotel. At 7:00 pm i checked in and there i was..into the Premier Suite Room with the room no 2020...upon recieved the card, it promptly flashed my mind to the Vision 2020 terminology applied to implicate the nation vision toward being a developed country in the year 2020.

The moment i stepped into my room..woww so impressive and it was so spacious. I can't hold myself from telling you about this. It was the biggest hotel room i had ever spent my stays so far with all those great facilities. After all the room was only for me, myself alone..What a bull's eye. At the level 20th floor, i could see the beautiful skyline of KL and down there the overall view of the historical building of Penjara Pudu. I just could say that it was so magnificient and after all it was a SUITE room mate...And moreover i found KL a bit change this time. It looks tidier,more beautiful, colourful and comfortable to be within. Is it the impact caused by the tide of Visit Malaysia Year 2007? Well i'm not that sure but hopefully this positive changes will keep improving from time to time.

That night we had our dinner at a simple Japanese cuisine restaurant. I just had the 'Aji Fry' set with a glass of tea and it costed me a bloody RM 29.90..Shucks was i already in Malaysia or still in Japan.. Actually the food was not that good. It might be the first and last visit for me to that modest restaurant. You could get much more delicious and cheaper food of that kind here in Japan.

Thursday ~ Friday, January 18 ~ 19
I woke up at 5:30 am and mostly this was the wake up time for me during my short stay in KL. Well i had to..as the bus which commuted us from hotel to Perodua departed at 6:45 am sharp. After having the lavish breakfast at around 6:15 am and got into the bus, most of us would try to steal some time for a nap.

Usually we arrived at Perodua around 7:30 am. At last there we are..the huge, firm looked and majestic design of Perodua corporate building appeared as our bus entered the compound of Perodua.
Perodua Corporate Building and Head Office

Well it's time to work now....My visit this time purposedly for monitoring and confirming Perodua capability in terms of parts production, process flow; which begin from necessary parts collected at KD Plant sent to Body Shop (for manufacturing, cutting, hemming), then to ED coating process, back to KD Plant for checking, quality inspection, packaging, packing, stuffing and vanning into container. The parts then will be shipped to Japan via Port Klang and will arrive at Kobe Port in a week. Not so many critical issues arised except some matter that need to do rechecking, reconfirm, counter measure and kaizen. Well congratulation to everybody who worked hard to ensure all those planning work properly as per scheduled.

Is this the new model that might be launched this April? Well let wait and see
In Japan they call it Mira, Overseas it's been named Cuore or Charade and in Malaysia we might name it as...

On Friday morning luckily i got a bit of time to meet most of my colleagues at Parts Centre. Hehe they seem a bit suprising yet delighted upon seeing me shown up at a sudden appearance. Then together with Manager Abe-san of DMC and Manager Tanaka-san of PSSB, we met and had a brief talk with the General Manager of Parts Dept Norhammidi-san.
Perodua Parts Centre...my office while at Perodua. It is the first building you gonna see while on your way to entering Perodua's ground and located just opposite the corporate building

Friday night ~ Sunday afternoon, January 19 ~ 21
After confirming that it's unnecessary for us to work on Saturday, i rushed back to my hometown together with my 2nd elder brother to meet the King and Queen. We departed from our big brother's house in Bukit Sentosa at around 8:45 pm and manage to arrive home at around 2:00 am in the early morning with the tip top conditioned golden Stream which i borrowed from my elder brother. Apparently the King and Queen seems to be very delighted having two of their missed children home. During my short stay at Perlis i still got an ample time to get a taste of undisputedly delicious crabs curry cooked by the Queen and certainly the taste of king of fruits namely durian as well..nyummy.

Sunday 10:30 we shoot off from Perlis back to KL and made a brief stop at my elder sister's house at Danau Desa, KL

Monday ~ Friday, January 22 ~ 26
Well the jobs continued as usual. On Monday the ED coating vendor gave us a good lunch treat at one of prominent Thai and Nyonya reaturant in Shah Alam..once again らっき~~。We enjoyed the tasteful food very much with high degrees of satisfaction. And on Wednesday night again, this time it's Perodua turn to treat us some courtesy dinner at Perangsang Golf Club Resort Templer Park. DGM Abi-san, AM Nik-san of PPC and together with a few of KD Plant members, Mabuchi members, Mitsui, P.T Astra Daihatsu Indonesia members joined us having a delicious chinese cuisine. Yeah i like chinese cuisine very much..and again らっき~~。。

Then again our day continue with a lot of task, checking, discussions and meetings untill Friday evening. Friday night, It's time for us to make a move. Master Okada-san and myself checked out from Berjaya Times Square at 9:00 pm. We headed toward KLIA by taxi and from there my Japan's life is going to be back as usual. Good bye KL and 大阪にようこそ。。

I personally think that this business trip gave me a lot of precious experience and opportunity to learn very much regarding the related business, production and manufacturing matters of automotive industry. Under the guidance of much respected 師匠 and mentor Okada-san, it opened new perspective and comprehension in my mind relating automotive industry generally and parts supply control particularly. Now i understand why Daihatsu/Toyota top management always keep emphasizing the significance of Genba-site visit (現地・現物). Not only that, it also comes to my acknowledgement the importance of way of thinking(考え方), and 清潔(discipline) which is one of five elements of 5S concepts initiated by Toyota Management System.

However above all i would like to enhance my kudos to Daihatsu management and Perodua as well. Not to forget all the Perodua Manufacturing members including PPC and KD-Plant personnel for all their kind support and cooperation. May this affiliation keeps growing and our dreams realized in the near future to be the best of small and compact cars manufacturer in the world. Fly high with the tradition of excellence.

Nagasawa Masami and her Sera Fuku

Actually this is a promotional video featuring Nagasawa Masami, an outrageously cute and promising Japanese actress presenting the remake production of セラ服と機関銃(Sera fuku to kikanjyu)theme song. Her voice suits the song perfectly and astounded myself. I am obsessing over the song without having to wait any longer. Yeah Masami-chan you got me this time..

However you could also find out various faces of Japanese high school girls wearing the sailor outfits such as been showed in the video and as well here in Japan. It is typically to view them wearing it with the loose socks and above-knees skirt. Perhaps that's a trendy phenomena in the big cities such as Tokyo, Osaka or Nagoya yet i hardly see that kind of Sailor fuku here at my decent town of Okaba LOL.

As depicted from Wikipedia, "The sailor outfit or sailor fuku (セーラー服, sērā-fuku) is a common Japanese school uniform worn by middle school and high school female students. It was introduced as a school uniform in 1921 by the principal of Fukuoka Jo Gakuin University (福岡女学院, Fukuoka Jo Gakuin University?), Elizabeth Lee. It was modelled after the uniform used by the British Royal Navy at the time, which she herself had experienced as an exchange student in the United Kingdom.

Much like the male uniform, the gakuran, which being wore by high school students, Sailor-fuku bears a similarity to various military styled naval uniforms. There are seasonal variations for summer and winter for which sleeve length and fabric are adjusted accordingly. Common colors are navy blue, white, grey, and black.

Shoes, socks, and other accessories are sometimes included as part of the uniform. Although they are not part of the prescribed uniform, loose socks are also commonly matched by more fashionable girls with their sailor fuku."

Whatever it is, well the foremost reason that initiate me of rendering the video at my blog doubtlessly is Nagasawa Masami LOL. But the cute of herself only come to appearance at 3:21 minutes time. But i bet you that it's really worth waiting for it LOL. Her sweetest smile caused me to get my Kobe Sweet Potato Apple Pie bought 2 days ago out of the freezer and munching it into my tummy yeah nyum nyum..うめい~す

セラ服と機関銃

And here within this video we can see Nagasawa Masami acted in one of widely well known TV drama in Japan titled セーラー服と機関銃 (Sera fuku to kikanjyu). It tells a story of a high school girl names Hoshizumi who both her parents had dead, suddenly been handpicked by the underground Yakuza group to be their big boss. She and her group responsible in protecting the interest of local communities from outsider Yakuza group. At first she refused and refrain her group intensely from using bloody violent and lethal act against enemy but she herself can't stay back anymore after one by one of her good loyal members have been killed savagely which caused all the great anger and hatred buried inside her burst out tremendously. With all the guts she and Fukuma-san, the only member left alive stand up against the foe and killed a politician who happens to be the big boss behind the yakuza group and most of its members with the machinegun. However at the bittersweet ending of the story, Fukuma-san who had promised with her that he will no longer involves in any of underground activity and will pursue his life into 表の世界(normal 'on-ground world') died after been killed with knife by a rogue during his attempt to help a man who had been extorted. And at that time he's on his way to eagerly meet Hoshizumi after several months be aparted and for the first time after leading his life into 'on-ground world' as a salesman. He died before telling her of good news that eventually he succeed of getting away off being a rascal unto a good decent salesman. Well life actually is not that beautiful my man. ほんまの人生はそんなにあまくないぞお~。。なんちゃって ;p

Besto Regardo,
To date Nagasawa Masami eligibly stand out as one of my favourite Japanese female actress and artist. Well she's in the list now at least since August last year LOL...The rest are like...hmm maybe i'll come with the them another time..If there is still another time

Influential Books that changed the World and History of Ideas

I Just came across one Malay article written by SHAHAROM TM SULAIMAN (a lecturer at UITM)in Utusan Malaysia dated 8/01/2007 with a title "Kesan besar membaca buku berpengaruh". Even it was quite lengthy yet i found it to be interesting and salutary. So by taking hers for some reference, i decided to come out with my own english article..LOL. The content ? Well, certainly in regard to B O O K S.

Apparently books can change world. No doubt as leastwise for those who read them. And at least this is what has been stated in a book which the title is "Japan As Number One" (1960) written by Ezra F. Vogel. The book unveils the story of how great developments have been achieved in many spheres and disciplines that lead off from the resurgence of Japan during The Meiji Restoration period (1868-1912).

During those period, thousands of Japanese youngsters were sent abroad to foreign countries particularly England, France and German while at the same time a large numbers of foreign teachers were also brought in to Japan to educate Japanese youths.

This strategy was taken in order to avoid Japan from becoming cloddish nation, lacking of wisdom and progress moreover in the early era of modernization.

Japanese rulers had allocated such a big portion of budget for translation works of foreign books in various discipline such as philosophy,culture,industrial, science, and technology. This effort of translating foreign books into Japanese language was for the purpose of technological and knowledge transference from western countries.With all the knowledges they gained from those mammoth stock of books, Japan became a victorious in many fields.

In a book with the title "Books That Changed the World" which was produced initially in 1956 by American Library Association and arranged by Robert B. Downs, there are lists of 16 evergreen classical books that were appraised to have strong influence incessantly on men's intellectual development .

Those who like the 'kick and punch' of politic and power may read "II Principle" by Nicollo Machiavelli; "Common Sense" created by Thomas Paine; "Wealth of Nations" written by Adam Smith, and "Essay on the Principles of Population" by Thomas Malthus. Besides, should you have massive interest on military, why don't you give a try for "Mein Kampf" by Aldolf Hitler or "Art of War" by Sun Tzu which also practically can be a reference book for leadership or corporate & business managerial qualities development.

For the science enthusiast, you could try "Principia Mathematica" by Sir Issac Newton and controversial classical book "Origin of Species" created by Charles Darwin; "Interpretation of Dreams" by Sigmund Freud, or "Relativity: The Special and General Theories" by Albert Einstein.
All the 16 influential books that were listed by Downs had been translated into many world premiere languages.

It seems to be true that those books recommended by Downs implied some kind of relation that bonded amongst the writers. For instance, Copernicus acquired his ideas from the Greek philosophers. Newton, Galileop Galelli, Johannes Kepler on later days had brought forth Albert Einstein. One book with another books, whether in the past, today, or tomorrow always brushing each other thence resulting new phenomena or discovery.

What a naive and something absurd to those people who are talking about bringing development and get rid of poverty yet without any presence of books as a light that capable of flourishing wisdom and universal knowledge. In line of history, we can find out a lot of prove indicating that book is not something insignificant and wimpish. Nonetheless books always become a "burner" for spurs of life and having ability for changing direction of significant events. Books are the nerve of culture and civilization of one nation.

The subtitle of the above mentioned book which arranged by Robert B Downs is "16 Landmarks in the History of Ideas." The author offers 16 selections of books, manuals or pamphlets that changed the world over the past 500 years.The books are divided into two main sections: 1) The World of Man and 2) The World of Science.

The list of books, authors and chapter headings in the first section are as follows:

1)The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli, "Anatomy of Power Politics"
2)Common Sense by Thomas Paine, "American Firebrand";
3)The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith,"Patron Saint of Free Enterprise";
4)Essay on the Principle of Population by Thomas Malthus, "Too Many Mouths";
5)Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau, "Individual Versus State";
6)Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe, "Crusader for the Lowly";
7)Das Kapital by Karl Marx, "Prophet of the Proletariat";
8)The Influence of Sea Power Upon History by Alfred T. Mahan, "Leviathan Against Elephant";
9)The Geographical Pivot of History by Sir Halford J. Mackinder, "Heartland and World Island";
10)Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler, "Study in Megalomania."

The second section dealing with the World of Science includes
11)De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium by Nicolaus Copernicus, "Celestial Revolution";
12)De Motu Cordis by William Harvey, "Dawn of Scientific Medicine";
13)Principia Mathematica by Sir Issac Newton, "System of the World";
14)Origin of Species by Charles Darwin, "Survival of the Fittest";
15)The Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud, "Psychologist of the Unconscious"; 16)Relativity: The Special and the General Theory by Albert Einstein, "Godfather of the Atomic Age."

It is well understood that most of 16 books listed above were written by western scholars and academicians or also known as christian books if i am not mistaken. On the other hand, world can never deny that there are also many precious books created by muslim intellects as well. Those muslim scholars were such as Ibnu Sinna, Al-Khawarizmi and Al-Ghazali.
