Perodua breaks with tradition

PERUSAHAAN Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd is "breaking tradition" for the first time in its 15-year history by introducing a new vehicle fully imported from Japan.

The second national car producer plans to launch the Perodua Nautica sports utility vehicle, a rebadged Toyota SUV, next month.

Perodua has always produced Toyota or Daihatsu vehicles at its plant in Sungai Choh in Rawang, Selangor.

Managing director Datuk Syed Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar stressed that it is more cost-effective to import the SUV than to assemble it locally.
"This is an urban lifestyle vehicle. The most volume we may get (for this kind of vehicle) is 300 units a month," Hafiz said in a recent interview at his office at the Sungai Choh facility.

He added that monthly sales of some 1,500 units of such vehicle are needed to justify any local assembly.

Hafiz said the 1.5-litre Nautica is also to "fill up Perodua showrooms more". It will complement the company's current passenger car line-up of the Myvi and Viva.

Perodua is targeting buyers who are in the market for a second or third vehicle with a four-wheel drive (FWD) capability.

There is a similar SUV like the Nautica produced by Toyota Motor Co in Indonesia. But the latter version comes with a two-wheel drive capability, Hafiz explained.

Kembara Replacement: Talk has it that the new upcoming Perodua Nautica will look more or like a Daihatsu Bego/Terios or Toyota Rush

Meanwhile, Hafiz said the looming Perodua rebranding is a continuation of its journey to change itself.

"The journey to make the company name more visible started two years ago. For some time now, our product brands such as Kancil and Myvi stand out more prominently than our corporate name, Perodua. We intend to change that situation," he said.

The rebranding revolves around Perodua's new brand vision and tag line "Fresh Thinking To Move Malaysia" and should be launched in June.

My Sacrifice by Creed : Tribute to Anwar Ibrahim

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysia Prime Minister in waiting. By god's will.

After many relentless ordeals he endured, passed, and still keep on surviving with an earnest gesture of goodwill, i am very pleased to have this charismatic leader as the next Premier of Malaysia. For the time being, i can't think of other better candidate except him. Well, the perception can change anytime though. But for now, he's the man.

Thanks Mom... 。。

Wow it has been quite some times until i start to write again today.
I've been quite busy lately.
Anyway, i would like to take this chance by greeting all the great moms out there, Happy Mother's Day.

To my beloved mama;

Mom, you are the best,
You're different than the rest.
You make me stronger,
To stand on my feet for the future.
You are the only one,
Blessing from you is all i want.
Thanks for everything,
Without you my life is nothing.
I will always love you mom.

Song: 未来へ(Mirai ei)
Singer: Kiroro

(Hey look at your steps
This is the way that you gonna walk through
Hey look forward
That's your future)

(Mom treated me with a lot of tenderness
Embracing love while moving on repeatedly
Then, i was still young not knowing the meaning
Still mom grasp my hand firmly
Together we walked on)

(A dream is always at high in the sky
Afraid that we couldn't reach it
But keep on chasing for it
Coz it's about your own story then don't give up
Whenever feel unsecured, grasp the hand
Together we walked on)

(Sometimes i hate to be treated tenderly like that
To mom whilst away i couldn't be as good as i used to)

(Toward the future
Slowly we walk on)

Besto Regardo,
This is a very sweet song with a touching and meaningful Japanese lyrics. One of the best song tribute to all the best moms. This song was first introduced to me by one of my Nihon-Go Japanese Sensei when i was studying in University Malaya in 1998 for the Japanese University Admission Preparation Course. Hmmm..those days really sweet.
