Thanks Mom... 。。

Wow it has been quite some times until i start to write again today.
I've been quite busy lately.
Anyway, i would like to take this chance by greeting all the great moms out there, Happy Mother's Day.

To my beloved mama;

Mom, you are the best,
You're different than the rest.
You make me stronger,
To stand on my feet for the future.
You are the only one,
Blessing from you is all i want.
Thanks for everything,
Without you my life is nothing.
I will always love you mom.

Song: 未来へ(Mirai ei)
Singer: Kiroro

(Hey look at your steps
This is the way that you gonna walk through
Hey look forward
That's your future)

(Mom treated me with a lot of tenderness
Embracing love while moving on repeatedly
Then, i was still young not knowing the meaning
Still mom grasp my hand firmly
Together we walked on)

(A dream is always at high in the sky
Afraid that we couldn't reach it
But keep on chasing for it
Coz it's about your own story then don't give up
Whenever feel unsecured, grasp the hand
Together we walked on)

(Sometimes i hate to be treated tenderly like that
To mom whilst away i couldn't be as good as i used to)

(Toward the future
Slowly we walk on)

Besto Regardo,
This is a very sweet song with a touching and meaningful Japanese lyrics. One of the best song tribute to all the best moms. This song was first introduced to me by one of my Nihon-Go Japanese Sensei when i was studying in University Malaya in 1998 for the Japanese University Admission Preparation Course. Hmmm..those days really sweet.

China dumplings made havoc in Japan

A packet of the Chinese-made dumplings. People said they fell ill and vomited after eating the dumplings

Dozens of Japanese people say they have fallen ill after eating Chinese-made dumplings, prompting Tokyo officials to launch an inquiry. The frozen dumplings, known as gyoza in Japan, were made by Tianyang Food in China's Hebei province.

Japanese officials said they contained traces of pesticide, probably added in production or packaging in China. China said no traces of pesticide had been found in pre-export inspections, but ordered a halt to production.
The issue has triggered intensive media coverage in Japan and sparked public alarm.

The problems emerged on Wednesday, when 10 people were reported to have fallen ill from the dumplings - thin dough packets containing ground meat and vegetables which are then fried.

A five-year-old girl was in a serious condition in hospital, reports said. By late Thursday there were unconfirmed reports of dozens of cases.

The Japanese distributor, JT Foods, has recalled the dumplings and other products made by the same company. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said preliminary tests on two batches of the dumplings had found them to be safe. In recent months, Chinese-made products have been involved in several safety scares.

But Japan has also had its problems. Last year, confectioners admitted to mislabelling expiry dates on biscuits and rice cakes.

Besto Regardo,

A colleague of mine, a Chinese lady however dare to differ against the public opinion that the dumplings are not safe, by coming up with her own conclusion - the cause is not with the dumplings, it's the Japanese people whose antibody are so weak that they can't stand with the contaminated food !
Haha...so what do you think guys ?

It's autumn...

Yeah apparently i start to feel the chilly weather since one or two days ago instead of sizzling hot atmosphere. Such an indication that summer has gone, autumn has come.

So to all dudes in Japan, you can start to pack in all your summer-time fashion stuffs and take out your autumn collections.

Well, in Japan, when talking about autumn season or known as aki in Japanese(秋), koyou (紅葉)- a scenery of reddish maple's leave, kaki (柿)- persimmon fruit, and another kind of kaki (牡蠣)- oyster, are sacrosanct. Hmmm i can't wait for having good serve of oyster's dishes. Nyum nyummmmy~

So boys and girls, enjoy the season will ya..though 'gloomy' is something that autumn is naturally perceived as.

Yasuo Fukuda is the new Japan Premier

The question of who's going to take the hot seat from Shinzo Abe as the next Japan Prime Minister has already been answered. Yasuo Fukuda, 71, a moderate lawmaker,is set for the throne after defeating conservative former Foreign Minister Taro Aso. Mr Fukuda won 330 of the 527 valid votes cast (63% of the ballot) against 197 for Mr Aso.

A member of the political elite, Mr Fukuda is the son of a prime minister from the 1970s and was former chief cabinet secretary (官房長官)- the top government spokesman - under Mr Abe's predecessor, Junichiro Koizumi. He was widely perceived as a strong supporter of Mr Koizumi during the latter's endeavour to call for a drastic reformation on certain government policies.

What amazed me most, is how Japanese uphold their democratic values and professionalism to ensure the best for the sake of nation. The seat is opened for anybody deemed to be eligible as a candidate and it's apparently no such thing as win without a contest. Both candidates had been given fair opportunity to run for the campaign and equal media coverage. They could appear in any channel and debate for their policies and views. This kind of phenomenon not only holds in the event like this premier electoral but also applies during the nation general election. All the leaders either from the ruling or opposition parties will have their right and freedom to voice out their concerns and views. I was a bit impressed when sometimes ago, i saw in Japanese TV, all the representatives of their respective political parties sat together around an oval table, face to face, debating for the sake of the country and its people.Mind you, there was nothing terrible went on, no defamation, no teasing, no stupid statement and absolutely there's no such thing as riot purported when unsatisfactory conjured. I wonder, is this can or when it can be applied in Malaysia where all the political parties being given a fair chance to play and run on the same field.

Embattled Japan Premier Resigned

Shinzo Abe, the youngest prime minister in the history of Japan post World War Era has announced his resignation from the premier post yesterday afternoon.

I was appalled after hearing the shocking news from a friend of mine at office.Abe held the throne for less than a year.He had been criticized hardly following unveiled scandals one after one involving his cabinet ministries pertaining politics and money matters. But that is not the only possible reason that has been given for Mr Abe's decision. Some analysts talk about concerns over his health - and rumours that he has been under great "strain" were confirmed by the chief cabinet spokesman.

There are multi diverse comments on his decision but i must say that i am impressed and take off my hat for him.He has the gut to take the responsibility and this shows he's a man with high dignity. My full respect upon him.

Besto Regardo,

No wonder Japan can emerge as one of the most advance and richest country in the world in such a short period. The people's conscience, ethic and mentality reflects it all.

Cara Jepun bina modal insan

Setelah selesai makan, semua orang basuh pinggan sendiri.

Endurance Test in Nara...yeah why not ?

A great journey starts with the first step.Yup that's what people say.Well, in my case, it turns out to be "A great journey starts with a couple of SMS".

A good buddy of mine, Imai Taro (Well he has nothing to do with Ultraman Taro though)would never cease of asking me to join him for any occasion that sparked in his brain. Last Tuesday, he sent me the first SMS as invitation to join him cycling up to the 931 meters Mount Rokko. I'd really love to give a nod for any outdoor stuff kinda of but the fact is, it was too bloody hot out side nowadays.Gosh natsu in Japan is hell hot.

Anyway eventually we did ascending Mt. Rokko but with our arse sitting in his Wagon R.We sealed mutual concession that instead of bringing along my mama charinko, i should take book or something readable. So i decided to get with me the book that i am in the midst of - "人を育てるトヨタの口ぐせ" or in English simply translated as "Toyota Jargon".I bet you, this book is one damn fantastic bible for anyone to grasp about Toyota Management style and easy to comprehend since the Japanese language applied are not that complicated.Good for gaijin !

When we arrived at one spot on the mountain, it felt rather chilly. We were lucky since it was a clear day thus big part of Kansai region- covering Osaka metropolis,Kansai Intl Airport until the city of Kobe, was visible. There were crowd of people and tourist which attracted much of our attention.

After enjoying the beautiful scenery,we landed at one cafe shop.Apart of having cafe latte and cappucino, much of our time spent on reading and chatting. On that occasion, Imai asked me about my plan for summer holiday."Well nothing particular dude".I replied."Hey is there any place you wanna go in Japan".Followed Imai. He suggested Shikoku, Wakayama, Gifu, Takayama to me.I didn't really mind much so i left to him to decide and the day after....we shot to Gojyo-shi.Without proper planning, i hope to find something extraordinary at Gojyo. We arrived at Gojyo eki at around 4 pm and the journey was damn hot and exhausting.Imai dictated that we go to the MontBell youth hostel-our temporary ghetto, on foot.God...can't you see it's bloody burning! Anyway walking we did...for about 3km under the heating sun.
Montbell at Gojyo Youth Hostel.I'll put other pictures next time if, Imai generously handed me some of his collections
We spent only a night at the hostel.I must say the hostel was quite nice and valued for the money we paid..3900 yen each per night. There, it was the first experience for me getting into the public bath and ofuro. 。 On the first night, we spent most of our time on reading.

Next day we got up quite early at about 8 am.After having breakfast,we packed our stuff and checked out at 10 am yet we decided to spend some extra time there...still.Nevertheless, Imai and i had nothing to do..so to kill the time, each of us took out the book and slowly....until at one point,we decided to stop reading and do something else.

Actually MontBell is a very well known brand for the outdoor activity. Therefore there were numerous kind of activities provided for visitor to join, experience and challenge. They have rafting, canoeing, or kayaking in Yoshino river, mountain biking, cycling, trekking and so on.Due to cost constraint, we decided to take the cheapest option - cycling, that cost us 400 yen each.Upon received the bicycle, we travelled as far as we could along the Yoshino river.I must say it was a very memorable experience and i did enjoy the beautiful scenery of the unspoilt nature. It was awesome and truly remarkable view. The only slack was the heating sun.It was vehemently hot and we did really test our endurance in the adventurous trip.

We departed form Gojyo for Osaka at around 3:30 pm.The train we boarded didn't even have air cooler but ceiling fan instead.Gossh..unbelievable in the state of Sakura. But that's what we experienced.

Thank god that we made our way safely and i'm really looking forward for another voyage..next plan; perhaps to have a bite of sanuki udon at shikoku, and autumn at Kamikochi in Shinshu. Honma iiideee~

The opening of the Tokyo Mosque, May 12, 1938. Present are Abdürreid Ibrahim, in the center; seated next to him is Admiral Ogasawara Chsei. Reproduced with kind permission of Müge Isker Özbalkan, great-granddaughter of Ibrahim.

Pada tahun 1970-an, pelbagai maklumat mengenai Islam tersebar, iaitu selepas “krisis minyak tahun 1973.”

Besto Regardo,

Islam is universal.Being a Muslim doesn't mean you have to dress, eat and live like Arabs. This is what many of us and moreover non-Muslims' misinterpretation pertaining Islam itself.

Impact on Automakers

Latest news reported that monday's earthquake left 10 people dead. Hundreds more were injured and scores of homes have been flattened.

The earthquake has also affected Japan's automakers.

The temporary closure of a factory in Kashiwazaki belonging to major supplier Riken Corp - a maker of transmission and engine parts - will force top manufacturers such as Toyota and Nissan to scale back production.

Toyota is to stop production lines at its plants in Aichi on Thursday and Friday, and review the situation on Monday. However the move taken will also affected all subsidiaries under Toyota Group. All Daihatsu; Shiga, Kyushu, Ikeda, Kyoto plants also have to stop their production and today has been declared an off-day to those who work at production line.Well, since we are not those at the production site, all my colleagues got to work today, but i'm here at home now since i've taken the annual leave in advance previously. So sorry guys. Anyway it really feels good when you can enjoy the view of looking others got to working while you not. Delicious !

Japan rocked by major earthquake, Malaysia ?

Is godzilla behind all this bloody mayhems. Or is it the consequence of mother nature angriness. As being struck by the Taifu No 4 (台風4号)which is reportedly to be the strongest since the past few years, Japan has been rocked subsequently by earthquake.

An earthquake has struck central Japan, killing at least six people, flattening buildings and triggering a fire at a nuclear power plant.Hundreds of people were injured when the 6.8-magnitude tremor struck the Niigata area.It has been reported that the fire at the nuclear plant has been extinguished, and there was no release of radiation or damage to the reactors.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has flown to the affected region. He cut short a trip to the south-western city of Nagasaki, where he was campaigning ahead of forthcoming upper house elections.
Japan earthquake map. Area near to Niigata prefecture was the centre of shaking and the impact reached as far as down south Tokyo.

A report said, about 2,000 people had been evacuated from their homes, while tens of thousands are reported to have no power or running water.Older buildings, many of them with wooden walls and heavy tile roofs, appear to have suffered the most damage in the earthquake, which also cracked roads and buckled bridges. The region has subsequently suffered several strong aftershocks.Hospital officials said about 300 people had been brought in for treatment of injuries including broken bones, cuts and bruises.

Damaged houses in central Japan. Japan is in one of the world's most seismically active areas.

'Violent shaking'
Skyscrapers reportedly swayed in Tokyo, more than 200km, from the earthquake's epicentre in the Sea of Japan.
Earthquakes are common in Japan, which is situated in one of the world's most seismically active areas, and the country regularly holds safety drills.

In 1995, a magnitude 7.3 tremor hit the city of Kobe, killing more than 6,400 people.
As for the record, the disastrous catastrophe caused by earthquake showed very high significant number of casualties than people died caused by Godzilla.

Besto Regardo,

Hey it's a public holiday today as it is a SEA DAY(海の日), but not for me. I did go to work. Yeah i had to. Ganbare Nippon !! As Nippon rocked by earthquake, Malaysia had been rocked as well. Toyota Vs GM for the World's No. 1 automaker..

Japan's Toyota hot on heels of General Motors as world's No.1
OKABA (AP) - Looking at the year ahead, there's no stopping Toyota. Analysts say 2007 could be the year the Japanese manufacturer surpasses General Motors Corp. as the world's No. 1 automaker in vehicle sales.
Soaring oil prices have drivers around the world snatching up gas-saving Toyotas with a reputation for reliability, like the Camry _ the best-selling car in the U.S. nearly every year since 1997 _ and the Corolla, the world's top-selling car.
To keep up with demand, Toyota Motor Corp., which passed up Ford Motor Co. as the world's No. 2 automaker in annual sales in 2003, is opening new plants in Russia, Thailand and China next year. "Everything is going right for Toyota in every way possible,'' said Yasuaki Iwamoto, auto analyst for Okasan Securities in Tokyo. "Toyota has carved out a reputation for reliability and quality.''

The numbers tell the story. Toyota expects to sell 8.85 million vehicles worldwide this year. It won't announce vehicle sales targets for 2007 until Dec. 22, but earlier said it aims to sell 9.8 million vehicles globally in 2008.
General Motors Corp. doesn't give vehicle sales targets but sold 9.17 million vehicles globally last year, the second-largest volume in company history. Toyota is expecting a US$13.4 billion (euro10.1 billion) profit for the fiscal year ending March 2007. It posted a US$11.8 billion profit last fiscal year, marking its fourth straight record income.
GM's situation couldn't be more different. The U.S. automaker is undergoing massive restructuring after racking up more than $10.6 billion in red ink last year and losing US$3 billion more the first nine months of this year.

GM says the perception that its cars are gas-guzzlers is unfair and inaccurate. The Detroit-based automaker, which has begun an ad campaign to fight that perception, has its own share of fuel-efficient models, such as the Saturn Vue Green Line hybrid.
The company said it is focused on its turnaround plan and won't make decisions for the sake of keeping its global sales leadership.
"We're focused on remaking GM into a more competitive, leaner company that can generate profits on a sustained basis,'' said spokesman Brian Akre. "We won't alter our North America turnaround plan or sacrifice our profitability for the sake of one superlative.''

General Motors is also far ahead of Toyota in China, the world's third-largest auto market behind Japan and the U.S. Last year, GM had 11 percent of the Chinese market while Toyota had just 3.5 percent.
GM already has five joint venture assembly plants that make nearly all GM vehicles sold in China and plans to spend US$3 billion in 2004-2007 to expand operations.
But Toyota is also investing in China and aims to roll out the remodeled Corolla next year there - and around the world.
Meanwhile in the U.S., Toyota is encroaching on GM's turf. A decade ago, GM controlled about a third of the U.S. market while Toyota had barely 8 percent. Today, GM's share has dwindled to 24 percent.Toyota's zoomed to more than 15 percent.

This year, Toyota won top honors in eight of 19 categories in a J.D. Power and Associates vehicle dependability study _ more than any other company. Toyota's Lexus luxury brand was the top-ranked nameplate for the 12th consecutive year.
And with the renewed consumer interest in environmentally friendly cars, Toyota has done well with its Prius hybrid, which went on sale in 1997 and delivers about 51 miles per gallon.
Toyota officials say beating GM isn't on their minds.
"Our goal is to become No. 1 with the customer,'' said Toyota spokesman Paul Nolasco. "The increases we are experiencing in production and sales is simply a reflection of consumer demand.'' But Toyota has seen its reputation take a hit recently in a rise in recalls, partly as a result of successful cost-cutting that involves many models using the same parts.
Although Toyota's production methods are emulated by other companies and studied at universities, it has been struggling lately to maintain quality as it expands production - a signal of possible danger ahead. President Katsuaki Watanabe has repeatedly promised to beef up quality controls.

To keep up with the burst in demand, Toyota will be opening new plants next year.
Its first auto plant in Russia will start producing the Camry. Toyota in Thailand will add another plant, its third there, to produce pickup trucks. A new plant in China will produce a compact that Toyota has yet to disclose.
In the U.S., the first Tundra pickup trucks rolling off of Toyota's Texas plant will arrive in showrooms in 2007, a sign of Toyota's ambitions in a lucrative sector dominated by American automakers.
Toyota has used its ample coffers to purchase significant stakes in two of GM's former Japanese alliance partners _ Fuji Heavy Industries, the maker of Subaru cars, and truckmaker Isuzu. Toyota will be even using Fuji's Indiana plant to make Camries starting in spring 2007.
GM used to be the top shareholder in Fuji, but sold its entire 20 percent stake last year as part of its efforts to raise cash for restructuring. Toyota bought an 8.7 percent stake in Fuji for about US$315 million to become the top shareholder.

Last month, Toyota bought a 5.9 percent stake in Isuzu Motors Ltd., well-known for its diesel technology that Toyota is eager to gain - half a year after GM sold its entire 7.9 percent stake in Isuzu. Another symbolic contrast can be seen in the companies' relations with workers.
Over the years of growth, Toyota has never resorted to layoffs, vowing never to repeat the massive voluntary retirements that came during troubled times in 1950, and the company has won worker loyalty in return.
Toyota is among the exceptions among major Japanese companies that have stuck to that policy, although the once standard lifetime employment practice has unraveled in recent decades.
GM, meanwhile, has been negotiating severance packages, including early retirements and buyouts, with thousands of workers during this past year in an effort to turn around its North American operations.
Bill Schwartz of TBM Consulting, a Durham, North Carolina-based company that teaches Toyota production methods to corporate clients, says Toyota has been building its business for decades and is now almost certain to beat GM in attracting more buyers to its cars and trucks.
"It's unavoidable it will happen soon, and it will very likely happen next year,'' he said. "Toyota's curves are all going in the right direction. And General Motors' are all going in the wrong direction.''

Business Trip to DKC Oita...Yokattawaa honma de..

Salam..folk

Geez..2,3 days more to go..there gone Ramadhan..there come Syawal..

And just yesterday i had to escort one of my superior to pay a courtesy visit to one of our big suppliers..Daihatsu Kyushu Corporation at Oita-ken..(Damn it is during fasting day man)..Set up in 2004, DKC is the newest among Daihatsu Manufacturing Plant and perhaps the most sophisticated and beautiful. Other plants in Japan are at Ikeda, Kyoto and Shiga.
DKC situated just beside the sea in Nakatsu-shi and one of the significant factors to propel and contribute toward the emergence of local economic prowess.

Well..whatever it was i really enjoyed the trip. We depart from Shin Kobe station at 9:42 am with Shinkansen Superexpress Nozomi 50号 700-series and arrived at Kokura station in Kyushu at 11:39 am. It seems that taste of the air in Kyushu is slightly different with Kansai. I dont know how to describe it perhaps you could try it by yourself..douzo go yukkuri..

The meeting which commenced at 1:00 pm and scheduled to be over at 3:00 pm eventually closed at 3:20 pm. Then we made a brief plant tour to get know 現場 operation. As the plant tour over, we rushed back to Nakatsu station, took Sonic Express to Kokura station and from there we boarded into Shinkansen Nozomi 500 series..Apparently Nozomi 500 series is the most attractive among all the shinkansen and it recorded to be the fastest shinkansen running on the railway so far with 300
km/h.

Arriving Shin Kobe station around 7:30, we shooted to Sannomiya. Sannomiya is really a happening town. Very oshare..moreover during night. Unluckily i didnt take any picture of it. We had our dinner at Sannomiya.

Hmm what is so good about this business trip..well the foremost is everything is sponsored..hehe that's the best part of it man..Besides mean of work you could have sightseeing and get to know other places as well. At least i got a chance to view and pass through Okayama, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, and at last i can stand with my feet on the Kyushu ground..go here and there..see other people ways of living..taste their local foods..got some changes of scenery view..and all this for free...Round trip ticket with overall tranportation fee would come to approximately 30000 yen..And of course the experience and knowledge i gain through all the trip is priceless..even you slip out your Master Card or VISA..Sorry Sir..hehehe..it is not something purchasable...

Hopefully there are more business trip coming after this and perhaps luckily could spend 1 or two night at hotel...Haiit matteru yoo..
