Endurance Test in Nara...yeah why not ?

A great journey starts with the first step.Yup that's what people say.Well, in my case, it turns out to be "A great journey starts with a couple of SMS".

A good buddy of mine, Imai Taro (Well he has nothing to do with Ultraman Taro though)would never cease of asking me to join him for any occasion that sparked in his brain. Last Tuesday, he sent me the first SMS as invitation to join him cycling up to the 931 meters Mount Rokko. I'd really love to give a nod for any outdoor stuff kinda of but the fact is, it was too bloody hot out side nowadays.Gosh natsu in Japan is hell hot.

Anyway eventually we did ascending Mt. Rokko but with our arse sitting in his Wagon R.We sealed mutual concession that instead of bringing along my mama charinko, i should take book or something readable. So i decided to get with me the book that i am in the midst of - "人を育てるトヨタの口ぐせ" or in English simply translated as "Toyota Jargon".I bet you, this book is one damn fantastic bible for anyone to grasp about Toyota Management style and easy to comprehend since the Japanese language applied are not that complicated.Good for gaijin !

When we arrived at one spot on the mountain, it felt rather chilly. We were lucky since it was a clear day thus big part of Kansai region- covering Osaka metropolis,Kansai Intl Airport until the city of Kobe, was visible. There were crowd of people and tourist which attracted much of our attention.Haha 美人をさがせ~。

After enjoying the beautiful scenery,we landed at one cafe shop.Apart of having cafe latte and cappucino, much of our time spent on reading and chatting. On that occasion, Imai asked me about my plan for summer holiday."Well nothing particular dude".I replied."Hey is there any place you wanna go in Japan".Followed Imai. He suggested Shikoku, Wakayama, Gifu, Takayama to me.I didn't really mind much so i left to him to decide and the day after....we shot to Gojyo-shi.Without proper planning, i hope to find something extraordinary at Gojyo. We arrived at Gojyo eki at around 4 pm and the journey was damn hot and exhausting.Imai dictated that we go to the MontBell youth hostel-our temporary ghetto, on foot.God...can't you see it's bloody burning! Anyway walking we did...for about 3km under the heating sun.
Montbell at Gojyo Youth Hostel.I'll put other pictures next time if, Imai generously handed me some of his collections
We spent only a night at the hostel.I must say the hostel was quite nice and valued for the money we paid..3900 yen each per night. There, it was the first experience for me getting into the public bath and ofuro.いっすね。。全裸で~。On the first night, we spent most of our time on reading.それぞれの本に夢中。。興味しんしんだったな。でもさ、良い事のは俺らの部屋の隣にめっちゃいいカップルがいた。彼女はすげい美人でセクシ~。うわあああ鼻血でちゃうよ。

Next day we got up quite early at about 8 am.After having breakfast,we packed our stuff and checked out at 10 am yet we decided to spend some extra time there...still.Nevertheless, Imai and i had nothing to do..so to kill the time, each of us took out the book and slowly....until at one point,we decided to stop reading and do something else.

Actually MontBell is a very well known brand for the outdoor activity. Therefore there were numerous kind of activities provided for visitor to join, experience and challenge. They have rafting, canoeing, or kayaking in Yoshino river, mountain biking, cycling, trekking and so on.Due to cost constraint, we decided to take the cheapest option - cycling, that cost us 400 yen each.Upon received the bicycle, we travelled as far as we could along the Yoshino river.I must say it was a very memorable experience and i did enjoy the beautiful scenery of the unspoilt nature. It was awesome and truly remarkable view. The only slack was the heating sun.It was vehemently hot and we did really test our endurance in the adventurous trip.

We departed form Gojyo for Osaka at around 3:30 pm.The train we boarded didn't even have air cooler but ceiling fan instead.Gossh..unbelievable in the state of Sakura. But that's what we experienced.

Thank god that we made our way safely and i'm really looking forward for another voyage..next plan; perhaps to have a bite of sanuki udon at shikoku, and autumn at Kamikochi in Shinshu. Honma iiideee~

Obon Yasumi....one week celebration

Yeehaaaww...the much awaited summer holiday has come at last.

So what's your plan pal? I don't have any.Just wanna chill down and relax for the whole one week.Need some refreshment, i suppose.

Basically, Japanese would consume this once a year seasonal golden opportunity to converge the families and their old folks, spending days at the beach, enjoying 夏祭り(Summer Festival)and 花火(Fireworks play).

As for me...naahhh nothing particular. My time is my own for this few coming days hence i'll try to spend it wisely. Running in the park every one?

Well..Happy Yachumi everybody.Hopefully i'm lucky to encounter many cute girls '美人' with their kimonos or yugata..extra ordinarily lovely.

Around the world for honeymoon in 604 days

Hong Ju-won, The Korea Herald Publication

When Koo Whan-hoi was photographing the sunrise in Istanbul in December 2003, three dogs jumped up and bit through his thigh. The fear of having rabies prompted him to think twice about what he truly wanted in life.

"Rabies is said to be deadlier than Aids. Thinking I may not have much time left, I asked myself what I wanted to do," said Koo, the author of the book Crazy Honeymoon 604.

Some people might say his decision to quit his job as travel journalist, get married and go on a 20 month trip around the world with his wife could be the very symptom of the disease (if insanity is one of them.)

Koo married Park Jin-young in May 2005 and they went on their journey the following month. Park was delighted with Koo's honeymoon plan and jumped at the opportunity.

"Who doesn't like to travel? You have to think simple and just leave," Park said. At the announcement of their departure, both of their mothers responded by fainting. But the couple remained unyielding and set off to explore 40 countries in 604 days with only 43 million won (about $46,800).

Koo with his stubble and Park without any makeup stand out among the busy bees around the City Hall. They are now back home to tell the stories of their very long honeymoon.

The platter of Peking duck on the table at a Seoul restaurant seemed to make them reminisce of the days when they were in China. Koo said Peking duck is the most well known, but there are better delicacies in China. Once, they recognised the Chinese character standing for pig on a menu and ordered the dish. However what came out didn't look or taste like the pork back home. After stripping the bones clean, the two assembled the skeletal remains. It formed a figure of a tail. Park didn't fail to add that pig's tail is nothing in Chinese cuisine.

The couple thought English would take them around the world. It did until they hit South America. When body language met its limits, they nestled in Guatemala for a week for a crash course in survival Spanish. When asked what one needs to know in order to survive, they replied: "Agua (water) and muy caro (very expensive)."

They said a traveller should pack an altimeter. When they were driving up Karakoram (a mountain dividing China and Pakistan) they experienced the four seasons change. It started off steaming hot, then it started to drizzle then sleet, and at the peak of the mountain there was a snow storm. The plants and animals also changed as the altitude rose. As they experienced their atmosphere change within a matter of minutes, they couldn't help to wonder "how high up are we?" They regret they didn't have an altimeter so they suggest it for a traveller's must-have item.

When their lengthy journey around the world came to an end, Koo said he was excited to return to his jobless life in Korea. This was possible because he learned how to appreciate the smile of a little girl in Laos, chai made from the pond waters of India and the crystal clear sky of Uyuni, Bolivia. Park said that "If you know how to find happiness you can be dauntless wherever you are in the world," Park said. So even though their lives in Seoul were unplanned, they knew they were going to be happy.

In Italy when the couple lost a bag which had their camera, PC and other personal belongings, they were devastated at first. Later they felt it was unnecessary luggage and grew to be more comfortable without it. It would be wise to live the way they travelled, discard the luggage we own called worries and travel light in life.

Everyday has it's own unique event.

Guys,
How yall doin. Yeah i know it's been quite a time since my last entry. Well i got captured with all these extra burdensome commitment recently thus couldn't manage even a single proper time to think about for blogging.

Everyday has it's own meaningful event. Only the difference is it depends on how you translate it.

Last Saturday was such an eventful and historical day for Daihatsu Motor Corporation as it commemorated it's 100th year anniversary. Lucky me, to be among all those tens of thousands of Daihatsu employees having chance to celebrate the once in a century historical day at Universal Studios Japan, USJ Osaka. Nothing more interesting then, only that the entrance was free of charge and i could switch or veer my typical weekend atmosphere to something more happening and enjoyable. At least i could killed my spare free time chatting and mingling together with my two Japaneze buddies all day long..yeah. We didn't really care much about rushing with the crowd and dawdling into line, waiting turn for any attraction as that kind of thing will cost you to be standing there for hours like a stupid boring creature despairing its life to turn marvellous in a single blink.

I couldn't believe that even starting from evening time on the particular day all the attractions and shows were only specified to DMC's employees, numbers of waiting time showed no change at all. So after all we just lucky to exhilarating ourselves with those "not really hot stuff" such as that Snoopy gliding thing, Back Draft, Wicked musical show(I felt vehemently terrible watching this stuff), a few street shows and oh yeah at least we got our last chance to taste Sesame Street 4Ds. Surely i wanted to try many more such as Spiderman, ET and other shows but those creepy crowds certainly diminish my desire.

Anyway i really enjoyed having good time with my buddies on the day and it turns to be fantastic. Most of our time wasted at the restaurant, bistro here, and coffee house there exchanging our ideas and thought about life, career, job and a lot of stuff. That was really GOOOODDDD ! Hey buddy..other time, other place we conquer ok! Hehe..you guys steadily cool. These my two buddies are from Parts Overseas Dept..So the best of it was most of our conversation done in English..Ahh yeah at least i could rest my exhausting mind from thinking exact Japanese words before transmitting..Pheww ;-? Actually that's not a problem at all for them as Imai Taro san was also a graduate student from a university in States. So he speaks English very fluently and that always make me easier to talk about fool stuff and play words with him.

And another story last week..Wouww i really bit busy with my work lately. A few projects keep waiting to be implemented. On last Thursday i've been invited to join this one significant meeting between DMC and Perodua top management. It's where the final decision made...the very important decision. Hehe better for me not to elaborate about that as i might be charged of breaching the agreement and be sued of revealing confidential items.

Well boy..just wait and see for this coming next few weeks what's the story behind that. Till then...ooh yeah wanna go do some shopping. Got to increase my food and beverage inventory.

Besto Regardo,
I was startled..lately many weird disastrous event occured in this world. Not a smile's grinned, but eyes weeping thing. To this entire world, there's nothing catchy and to worry about if hundreds of nice people including children been shot deadly and exploded blatantly in Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Southern Thailand or elsewhere. But world will horrify incredibly if one psycho unstable guy ran amok and killed 32 people in Virginia Tech College recently..somewhat an historical record of massacre in America modern history..Hmm can't think a solution of why world can't be just a peaceful place to live within.

Friendship blossomed.. at Nanba Osaka

Last Saturday on 18th November i had a chance of spending my usually deadening weekend at Nanba, a central attraction spot in the city of Osaka.
It turned out to be a very engrossing event since i came back to stay here in Japan. My best kudos is dedicated to Takahashi-san, my colleague at Parts Center DMC, his wife Kyoko-san and their vibrant, amicable and beautiful fellow friend Tanaka-san.

Takahashi-san expressly drove all the way alone from his home at Osaka to fetch my buddy Wan-san and myself at 11 am sharp in front of Okaba-eki which would be approximately 1 hour travel distance by car.
Nanba is apparently a very happening and vibrant town. As we walked along to the spot where Takahashi-san and his wife Kyoko-san had promised before as a place to assemble, i noticed there were a lot of tourist both locals and foreigners striding here and there while taking some pictures at the memorial spots as a symbols and signs of Osaka.
After introduction session, we had our lunch at one of underground restaurant there. The main menu was of course...what else if not Okonomi yaki..Yess Okonomi yaki is Osaka illustrious and highly notable food beside Takoyaki..and the Okonomi yaki that we had in Nanba is the best i ever had..さすが高橋さん。。めっちゃ うっめめめえいいいいいいい ほんまに。。
Then after an hour of lunch..we Tanaka-san led us to take a walk around Nanba..Luckily Takahasi-san brought along his camera hence we could snap 3 pieces of memorable photos.

From L-R: Me, Wan-san, Tanaka-san and Kyouko-san in front of the drumming boy. これは難波での写真スポットのひとつだにゃゃ~

Yeah guys, should you had an opportunity coming to Osaka..these 3 spots are a must for taking memorable pictures at Osaka whilst they would be a prove that you have came to Osaka. One is a boy doll playing drum..2nd is the big crab replica and 3rd one is on the Nanba-hashi with the Glico man athelete's running image as your background.

Tanaka-san seems to be very eligible as a tour guide..hehe..She guided us all the way around the street of Nanba town while explaining the related matters in details. Well for the time being she is happy with her carrier now as an OL. She is still available you know..and can speaks italian as well.. buno..buno..

On Nanba-bashi with Takahashi-san on my left hand side and the Glico billboard at the back. This bridge used to be a jumping- into- river spot for the diehard fan of Hanshin Tigers baseball team everytime the team won the championship title. But now the action is strictly prohibited as there was a case of people died after jumping off the bridge thus the authority had erected glass wall in order to preventing such action

Then we had our dessert and tea course at one of prominently french pastry / cakes restaurant..haha here i had an opportunity of being served by the french maid..really. There were hundreds varieties of delicious cakes and tea..that for sure make your head spinning of not knowing which one you should have...as all looks very yummy...at least that was what happen to me then. While having our cakes and tea..we talked and discussed about a lot of things very pationately..we talked about men, women, love affairs, cultures, religions, works, languages, entertainment, Japanese jokes many more..Takahashi-san currently is attending English language class and Tanaka-san is studying Italiano..Yet, Tanaka-san also happen to speak a bit Malay as her sister ever been in Indonesia for a few years before.

I really enjoyed the talking session as we changed our opinions and sometimes we broke out laughing loud as somebody talked about funny things...hahaha..i really missed that moment..We were so open-minded as even the sensitive parts were nothing to cautious about and everybody acted as a real lady and gentleman.

Ahhh yes once again i really really missed that moment..it was so professional yet cordial, amiable and compassionate gathering on that evening. I reckon that we sat there in the restaurant almost 3 and half hours..hahaha

Absolutely Takahashi-san, Kyoko-san and Tanaka-san are very wonderful people and i vehemently proud of they coming to share some spaces in the chapter of my life...Kudos a lot to three of you great people..You have proven that differences of race and religion is not a barrier to fabulous friendship..Till the time comes again..またいつかね。。
